Okay, another day, another idea.
I was on the phone with a Disney operator about a month ago. She was killing time while searching for Character dining reservations for me and was telling me about making a paper chain. It would serve as a visual, for little kids to understand how much longer until their big Disney Vacay! I thought it sounded so fun for us and an easy - no mess - art project! I LOVE THOSE KIND!
So we bought a few sheets of disney paper at the craft store today and made ourselves a paper chain!
I wrote on the inside of each chain the number of days that would be left. It's also going to be a lesson in recognizing and learning numbers, sounding out the letters they start with etc. Ha! Can you believe I'm getting a lesson out of this each day?? :)
Then we glued them and linked them together. Avery tired out on me about 1/2 way through but then I convinced her to just glue and I would put them together...so she liked that idea.
So our Disney paper chain is done! We will start it in a few days - we only made 24 rings! We hung it up on the fireplace in the playroom...it looks so cute, I'm going to hate to have to start taking it down!
This would be a great idea for countdowns to anything - birthdays, special trips, Grandparents visit or Christmas!
