Just when I thought Avery might not be getting anything out of all those Mickey Mouse Clubhouse epsidoes she watches repeatedly she surprised me! On the way to preschool this morning I was on the phone with my mom. I was asking her what size shirt my dad wore and I said "so, he needs a large" out loud. In the backseat Avery says "he needs a large, and he needs a small and he needs a medium". It was funny to me that she associated all three sizes together. I asked her where she learned that and she responded so matter of factly "from Mickey Mouse Mommy!" Of course, silly me...Mickey Mouse is a great teacher!

Girls Shopping Trip
Here's some pics of Riley and her buddy Rainey Grace (they are 10 weeks apart) on their first shopping trip together. I have some pictures of Avery in the car with her buddy Aidan going on their first shopping trip together too. So, we had to get some shots before we left that morning. Riley and Rainey were little angels all day. My friend Shelley and I had a great day and really enjoyed the special memories we made and the time we spent with just the "babies".

Tonight I had Bunco at my house. Avery woke up around 9:45, when we had just finished up. I told her I would lay down with her after everyone had left. When I went upstairs to check on her a little while later, this is what I found. I didn't even know she had come out of her room. So, Daddy carried her to bed and luckily she didn't wake up.

Thanksgiving Party
Avery had a Thanksgiving party at her preschool on Thursday. My friends Shelley, Karen and I were the "party moms". We brought some great food and made a really cute craft with the class. It was a good time seeing Avery interact with her friends and seeing how she played around in her classroom. Here are a few pics, it was hard to take too many with a baby (who wanted to be held) and making sure I didn't knock any kids in the head with my camera!

Avery: Mommy, I was at your wedding.
Me: You were?
Avery: Yes, I saw you in your pretty white dress and I saw you get married.
Me: When was this?
Avery: Friends like to watch when Mommy gets married (this did not answer my question) I saw you twirl in your pretty white dress and you were laughing and playing games and all that kinds of stuff.
4:30 a.m.
This is where I found Avery this morning at 4:30! I had just finished feeding Riley and went to check on her. She wasn't in her bed - which for a split second kind of freaked me out...I thought she must have been roaming the house or something? I almost didn't see her (the flash in the picture makes the room seem brighter than it was) because it was early and I was tired...but there she was, half under her bed. This is the first time she had done that so I ran downstairs and got the cameras! Here she is...

Napping on the porch
Avery loves her baby dolls and a lot of days her bed is covered in them at nap time. Today she wanted to pick one toy for her baby doll to take to bed so, she came out of her closet with this baby swing. I have never set a limit on the size of toy to bring to bed, so the swing was fair game...plus, I'm learning to pick my battles. Anyway, I went back up in her room to find her sound asleep with the baby swing still there. I thought it was so cute!

A sign of the times
Avery's latest comment while I was working on the computer...
Avery: Mommy I need to text someone too.
Me: Who do you need to text?
Avery: Well you know, Shelley.

A conversation from tonight
Avery: I need a new baby and I need a new Darbie (Barbie)
Mommy: Why?
Avery: Because I like it.
Mommy:Where did you see these new things?
Avery: I seen the Darbie on the tv and I see the baby on the magazine. So I like them.
Mommy: How are you going to buy these things?
Avery: I don't know?
Mommy: Do you have any money?
Avery: I don't but you have money?
Mommy: How much do you think this stuff costs?
Avery: 485 - (I'm not sure if we are talking dollars here)

2 Things
1. I wanted to share a cool blog I found that has some fun crafts to do with kids. Check it out here. Avery and I made the Thankful Turkey yesterday. We are writing what we are thankful for on the feathers every day leading up to Thanksgiving. It was a fun little craft and not too much work to do with a 2 year old.
2. I like to start shopping for Christmas early, and some years it's more of a dream than a reality but this year I am off to a good start. I have only bought 2 presents so far but I must say that they are already wrapped and tagged! Is anyone impressed?
2 months
Riley is 10 weeks old today (November 4th - Election Day). She had her 2 month check-up yesterday and she is still growing!!! haha She weighed 13 lbs 13 oz and was 23 inches long. She had 3 shots yesterday too (her first since being out of the hospital). Here she is with her doggy bandaids on. She was such a champ!
Also, she slept through the night last night from 7:30 - 5:00! I'm hoping it wasn't just a fluke because she possibly was extra sleepy from getting shots. Cross your fingers and say a prayer with me that this is the start to something wonderful....more sleep for Mommy!!!
The costumes
The idea of the girls costumes seemed to come to me easliy this year. I knew Avery would be Minnie Mouse because she is so in love with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and it was just a perfect time for her to be Minnie. I got her costume made on Etsy (http://www.etsy.com/) and since Riley was still so little, I decided she would be most comfortable in a onesie. So, she became a ladybug with a big bow on her head! I love the bow! I got it on an ebay auction for $8...which is a steal for that type of "big-o-bow" (that's my slang for the extrememly large bows). Anyway, they actually were coordinating in their black, red & white....which was not by accident if you know me! I think they were cute! We spent the morning at the park with some friends and then went trick-or-treating in our old neighborhood with some friends. It was a great day and my little Minnie Mouse was quite the trick-or-treater! She loved it! We came home and passed out candy for a while...until a boy dressed as a skeleton came to the door and that was it! Avery didn't want anything to do with passing out candy, so we turned out our light and called it a night!
