Friends

Here are the 4 amigos! Avery & Terry are 4 months apart and Rainey Grace & Riley are 10 weeks apart. I watched all 4 of them this morning for the first time and it went really well. Terry is hanging in there as the only boy of the group and he is ALL BOY! I actually enjoy having him around because he exudes a lot more energy...keeps me on my toes! haha Thanks for bringing them over Shelley...we had fun!

Gingerbread House

We bought a Gingerbread house kit the other day and decided to put it together on Sunday morning. (We have been going to church on Saturday nights so that leaves our Sunday mornings free - which we have enjoyed) I was super excited about the house and couldn't wait to put it together. It's the first one I have made since I've been an adult and for some crazy reason I thought it would turn out cuter than it did. But when you're making one with a 2 year old it's going to be a little "different" looking. Avery had a great time though! She loved eating the candy and icing while we worked on the house and she loved playing with the little Gingerbread men that came with the kit. We might have to do one every year just to see how much our skills improve!

Painting

If you've seen my status on facebook lately you know that it had said I was painting for a few days. I have a friend in Georgia that asked me to make a birthday banner for her twin boys that are turning 1 this month. She saw some pictures of the banner I made for Avery's 2nd birthday and liked it. I was thrilled to think she thought my skills were that good so, I agreed. Below is a picture of the banner I made for Avery and at the bottom the one I made for Brady & Brooks. Avery of course had to paint with me, so I included a few pictures of her too. A special shout out to Brady and Brooks - Happy Birthday boys! I wish I was there to celebrate this special day with you! Love you!

Toys for Tots

When we were in GA for Thanksgiving my mom was participating in a Toys for Tots drive. We decided it would be a good opportunity to allow Avery a chance to give without receiving. We went to Walmart and let her walk around the toy aisles and pick out (with some guidance) some toys to give to the children. I don't think she understood the idea until we go home and we loaded the toys in the bag.It was really hard for her to give up the baby doll we bought - since that is her favorite thing to play with. But it made it's way into the toy bag without too much strife. When were all done she gave the bag a big hug to send love to all the boys and girls whose Christmases we hope are full of joy!

Christmas Party

This is my second shot with my Picasa uploader and I have figured out that you can only upload 4 pics through Picasa. This is just an FYI... the process is super easy and will help me out with most of my posts. Here are my 4 shots from the Christmas Party. Avery got a Magic Tea Set from Terry & Rainey Grace and she loves it! We had so much fun sharing in the Christmas spirit with our friends! We are looking forward to our Christmas Pajama party tomorrow! The girls have matching Christmas pj's...I can't wait!!!

Picasa Upload

Isn't this cute! My friend Kim took this pic of Riley at our playgroup Christmas party...my little reindeer for the day! This is my first time using my Picasa 3 program to insert pics. I am testing it with this post. So far it's super easy and should be easier when uploading a lot of pics. I'll let you know.

What I shouldn't be doing...

This afternoon I needed to be scrubbing my toilets and finishing laundry but instead I decided to do 2 things I might shouldn't have. The first was eating a snack bag of cheetos...I'm not even that crazy about them but they have been sitting on my counter for 3 days and I finally decided to open them. The second was fiddling with my camera, I had the tripod out and all...I do have a million more productive things to be doing...but it was fun. Here's some pics I took of our Christmas lights.

Avery Talk

It was naptime and she had come out of her room and was hanging out in her usual spot at the top of the stairs. I went up to tell her to stay in bed or I would put up the gate (in her doorway). She hates having the gate up so this is a big thing to her. She says to me, while pointing her finger "mommy this is my warning, this is my last chance" **On a side note: Avery is finally cutting her 2 year molars! She has 3 coming in at the same time! Riley has rolled from front to back! I've been trying to get it on video but that has not been accomplished yet...stay tuned.

Avery's First GA Game

Unfortunately it was not the year for our Bulldogs. They started off the season great but they just couldn't keep it together. It was a little dissapointing but like they say "there's always next year". Since the weekend after Thanksgiving is usually rivalry weekend in college football our Dawgs were playing GA Tech at home in Athens this year. We've been trying to get an opportunity for Avery to see a game and this was it. She went to the game with Mimi, Papa, Daddy, Uncle Tommy & Aunt Ros. She had a great time and lasted the whole game without having a complete meltdown (or so I was told). Mimi said she really enjoyed cheering and waving her pom pom! I wish I could have seen her there because I know she was cute! But I had to settle for some pictures taken before they left. Here is Ryan with his little Georgia Girl!

Goodrum Thanksgiving

In my previous post I mentioned we had our traditional Thanksgiving feast at my parents house! It was just that...a feast!! The food was so delicious! My mom has the best dressing known to man...she could seriously win a prize for it! We had a fun time eating and talking as usual. Avery had a fun surprise when she got to Nana's house...a new dollhouse to play with. It was like Christmas morning to her. She played with the dollhouse all afternoon and even had to bring her little doll family to the dinner table with her. Thanks Nana for such a fun toy...it makes the time spent at Nana and Grandad's even more memorable.
The Family

Tittle Thanksgiving

I'm finally getting around to blogging about our wonderful Thanksgiving!
After inviting both our families to NC to have Thanksgiving with us, we changed our minds and decided to travel to GA. It isn't all that bad of a drive, so we sucked it up, packed it up and were on our way. After we had been riding for a few hours we decided that it is kind of fun to travel during the holidays - even when you wake up with some stomach virus that morning! Yes, I rode 9 hours in the car with something going on in my belly! Let's just say I traveled with my own toilet paper and we made more stops than usual! (Sorry if that was TMI) :-)
We celebrated Thanksgiving with Ryan's family on Thursday morning with a brunch! It was delicious! Ryan's mom made a great breakfast casserole and I was happy to not have to eat turkey twice in the same day! "The cousins" as we refer to the 4 older kids played all morning! They ran around after each other, up and down the stairs and all over Mimi and Papa's house! It was so great to hear the sound of their laughter and squeals! They always play so well with each other. After that we drove over to my parent's house for the traditional Turkey dinner. (More of that in the next post). Here are so shots we took at our brunch.
