Riley's First Flight
Here are some pictures from Riley's first flight in Papa's plane. He came to pick us up last weekend so we could spend some much needed time at "home" in Georgia for a couple days. Riley did GREAT! Ryan held her up front on the way back for a little while and she was trying to fly the plane...she knocked the auto pilot off and we all had a little "sinking feeling" in our stomachs as Papa got us back on course! YIKES! (that was not good for my flying anxiety...I about lost it) Anyway, God protected our going and coming and I am glad to be walking on solid ground! haha! The older I get the more anxiety I have about flying...I guess it's just because I have a family now.
I'll post some more pictures from our weekend in a few days...I'm overwhelmed with pictures right now...what's new?

Bowling 3 year old style
We took a trip to the local bowling alley today with some of our friends from playgroup. We had a GREAT time and were so excited that we played for over an hour absolutely FREE! Now, what better entertainment are you going to get on a Friday afternoon at no charge??? We had a coupon for some free games and because the lady didn't have enough shoes for all the kids in their sizes, she let us all wear our own shoes and didn't charge us a shoe fee. Cool huh?
The kids had a great time and played so well with each other. They did great taking turns and cheering on their friends! It's so cute to see Avery interact with her buddies and to watch them expierence things like this together.

Shots & Bandaids
Riley had her 6 month check up on Tuesday. A little surprising news was that she actually lost 1/2 a pound since her 4 month visit - weighing in at 15 lbs 1 oz. This is not normal for my children and it's not a particularly good thing for a baby. So, the doctor told me to really push cereal and start introducing Stage 1 foods after about a week. Riley hasn't been acting fussy after nursing - like she isn't getting enough food, and she is eating the same as before so, it's hard to pinpoint a reason for the weight loss. We will be going back in a month for a weight check. So, just pray that the solids will add some weight to her. She certainly doesn't look like she is hurting but we want her to be healthy. Also, she is a little slack on her communciation skills which I am contributing to the over use of her paci. So, we've (Ryan and I) committed to only give her a paci at sleep time and if she is particularly fussy. I didn't realize how often she had her paci in her mouth when she was just awake and playing. The doctor said it could keep her from being able to practice her "skills". This is not something I ever worried about with Avery because she never used a paci. Anyway, that's about it. She is still very healthy and doing really well! Here's a picture from this past weekend...our little Riley Roo.

WW week 9
I weighed in last night and lost 3.4 pounds. That brings my total to 18.6 pounds. I don't have anything else to say about that.... :-)

First Meal
Riley had her first taste of cereal last night. Avery helped set everything up, she get her bib, spoon, bowl and bumbo seat all ready. She was really excited about helping Riley eat until...
Riley started to use a sippy cup. Avery went crazy asking "can I share Riley's sippy cup" and cried and whinned about it until she got sent up to her room so we could finish our special time with Riley. I bought Riley her own cup because I didn't want Avery saying it was hers and not wanting to share with her sister. She's become a little possessive lately.
The first meal went well otherwise. It wasn't as glamourous as I remembered it being with Avery. I was so excited to start cereal with Avery and when she had her first meal there wasn't an older sister throwing a fit in the background! So, she recieved all the attention back then. Riley was a tropper though. She enjoyed the new taste and texture. So, here is to a lifetime of eating...we can never go back!
