26 weeks

I thought this was an interesting picture and had to post it. This is an English hothouse cucumber and it represents how long the baby is this week (26). Right now the average baby is 14 inches head to heel and weighs about 1 2/3 pound. The nerve pathways in the ears are developing, which means response to sounds is growing more consistent. The lungs are developing now, too, as the baby continues to take small breaths of amniotic fluid — good practice for when he/she is born and takes that first breath of air.

As I write this the baby is moving around inside my belly. It's such a miracle that there is a life inside me and I am trying to enjoy every movement I feel. Although, most of them are getting a little uncomfortable! Only about 3 more months left!

We've been moving...

We moved a little over 2 years ago (3 weeks before Avery was born) and I guess so much has happened in the past 2 years to fog my brain from the horrors that come with it! I kept telling myself "We don't have that much stuff", "This won't be that bad". Ha! Although, I do have to admit that our last move did not consist of all the toys and loot that come along with having had a baby and now a toddler! We have an entire side of our garage that is devoted to Avery's "outdoor" toys! What's up with that? But my saving grace has been my parents! They came up last Friday and have been working like they were 30 every since! Sometimes I forget they are the age that they are (no offense) because they are just those "non stop" type of people! I am so grateful they have been here! Well, during this move Ryan and I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary! We are officially an old married couple now, because we haven't even done anything for ourselves yet! But, hopefully we'll get out in the next day or two and spend a little time together before Mom and Dad leave. Here are a few pictures from our adventures in the last week!

This morning Avery was sitting on the couch and this is what I hear Avery: "Oh, no, Mommy! Avery finger broken!" Me: Uh, oh! What happened! Avery: "I d'know Mommy! Avery oder finger broken too!" Me: Well, you better come here and let me see! Avery: "Look Mommy! Broken" She was trying to tell me that her finger nail polish had come off of her fingernails! What a tragedy...that polish lasted a whole day! __________________________________________________ So, I am not sure where Avery has gotten the idea that you can take your neck and your head off your body, but she has been trying the past 2 days! Last night at dinner she said "Avery neck take off". I tried to explain to her that this would not be a good thing. Then this morning she was asking me to take my head off. She tried pulling it off for me, but luckily she didn't have any luck! She then tried to pull her's off! It's a little disturbing but I just went with it!

I just wanted to give a shout out to my girlfriends from my mom's group! There are about 11 of us that get together with our kids almost every week. We just started our monthly "MNO" - Mom's Night Out and we are going to make a habit of getting together without kids once a month. Here's a pic of 7 of us. There are 4 of us in this picture that are pregnant and 1 other mom (not pictured) is due any day! This time next year we will have a lot more little ones running around! Anyway, thanks to all my friends for being so great and supportive! I am so blessed to have such a great network of amazing women!

Avery's "Big Girl Bed"

So, this is the 3rd night that Avery has been in her "big girl bed". We are moving in 2 weeks but decided to go ahead and make the transition because she was just not sleeping well in her crib. Avery slept in a regular bed at my parents house while Ryan and I were away on our trip to AZ, so she had been accustomed to it for about a week. We set up the boxspring and mattress on the floor until we move. It seems to be going over really well! She was so thrilled when she saw it set up after nap the other day! We did hear a thud tonight around 10:30 and then crying...luckily her bed is not very high! Here a few pics.

Here's a few pics of Avery at Nana and Grandad's house - sleeping in a "big girl bed".

The many faces of Avery

Just wanted to share a few of Avery's faces that she likes to share with me throughout the day...

I just liked the eyes in this one....messy hair after nap.

Her "surprised" look!

Her sweet smile!

This is her big cheesey "fashion show" smile!

"Seriously Mom"

I feel like I am looking in the mirror when I get this face! I know I taught her that one because I have wrinkles on my face to prove it!

This is her trying to look like me at the dinner table???
