Bed or Potty?
My friend Megan has 4 children and recently told me about having to duct tape one of her daughters diapers on her for bedtime. I thought this was so funny but immediately thought "My Avery would never do that!"...well, I was WRONG! Avery woke up this morning with her pajamas 1/2 unzipped - something I've never seen her do. Luckily she didn't get them all the way off ...but I think she was working on what she would accomplish at naptime! I came into her room to see her standing in her crib with no diaper on and trying to reach what was on top of her bookshelf next to her bed. She had taken off a dry diaper only to pee in her crib!!! Ugh! I had just put clean sheets on! The funny part is that all morning she was asking to "pee pee potty" so she would rip her diaper off and head to the bathroom. Of all the 12 times she asked to go, I thought for sure that today would be our breakthrough! Unfortunately, today was not the day to "pee pee potty" but to "pee pee bed"! Needless to say, we might have to go buy some duct tape before bedtime!

Avery's Sleepover
Ryan was out of town this weekend so Avery and I planned a sleep over with our friends Shelley and Terry. Terry's daddy was out of town this weekend too, so it worked out great. They came over after nap time on Saturday afternoon. We played, ate some pizza, gave the kids their bath and played a little bit more! Both kids slept really well knowing that the other one was in the house! We all went to church together this morning and then out for Mexican for lunch and of course came home and played a little bit more before they went back to their house. We had a great weekend! It was a good distraction since daddy was gone all weekend!

"Wuv You"
Today I came home from a shopping trip around town. I took my shoes off and put them by the door. A few hours later I went out again to pick up some pizza. I went to get my shoes and they weren't in the place where I left them. I instantly knew that my little klepto child had put them somewhere. I looked around the house and to my surprise I found them in my closet on the second shelf of my shoe rack! They were put back perfectly, side by side! I guess I am not the only one around here that picks up after everyone!

I've been trying to work with Avery a little bit more on saying "I love you". She has said it for awhile but it was not recognizable as anything but baby talk! Tonight as we left her room Ryan and I said "I love you" and Avery answered with the sweetest "wuv you"!!! Ahhh it melted my heart!

Memory
Avery and I take the same route to the gym almost every weekday morning. Since the beginning of October we would pass a pumpkin patch on our way. Avery would say "hi pumpkins" as we drove by and sometimes she would also wave. This morning we were stopped at the traffic light and she noticed the pumpkins were gone. She started saying "Pumpkins all gone" over and over and was trying to understand where they went. I asked her "Where do you think the pumpkins went?" and she says "To house". It's amazing that she gets the concept of the pumpkins going away and going to their "house"!
