Baby #3 - 35 weeks

I'm technically 35 weeks and 5 days.  Apparently I haven't blogged what the past few appointments were about...so here's a catch up.

A few weeks ago I saw Dr. Brown (I hadn't seen him yet during this pregnancy). And after looking at my chart and seeing the Parvo Virus I had early on he decided to start ordering weekly NST (non-stress test) and Ultrasound. These were to check and see if I was having any effects from the virus. Apparently, it can cause a decrease in activity and low fluid levels around the baby. I've had 3 of them done so far and the baby looks super healthy each time. It's a little bit more inconvenient, since my appointments are longer but I do get to see my sweet little guy every week, which makes me very happy!

Today I got to see Sarah, my favorite US tech and the one who scanned me with all three babies. :) She is so sweet and funny. She let me sneak some peeks of Blake on 3D and that was fun. He's getting so big now that it's hard to really get a good picture. But she printed out some fun little shots for me to take home of his face. I showed them to the girls and they think he looks cute (and a little funny).

They also tested me today for Group B strep & I was "checked". So as far as that goes - there is nothing to report. :)

I am feeling pretty good. I am uncomfortable when it comes to sleeping and I am in full waddle mode when I walk! I seriously think I must look ridiculous, but hopefully it's not as bad as it feels!! My appetite is pretty much non exsistent. I must force myself to eat at this point and when I do, I get full so quick! I feel like I have a turkey dinner sitting in my stomach at all times. I lost 2 pounds this week and that's not a good thing. The doctor wasn't majorly concerned but she did say that I needed to gain more by next week. Honestly, I think I have enough fat stored up that he can eat on that for awhile! haha So, that brings my grand total of weight gained so far to 7 lbs! I'm not trying to keep it low, but I am not really complaining....as long as he is healthy!

I go back to the doctor next week to do the same tests again. I could be having a baby in 3 weeks....that is pretty crazy to think about!

Thou Shalt Not Lie

I have been working on multiple blog entries and just saving them until I have time to go back and write/upload pictures. But in the mean time I had to post about this, in case I forget.

Yesterday Avery came walking into the kitchen with a plate of goldfish...

*side note* - getting your own snack is not allowed in our house, unless you ask permission first.

So, I asked her where she got the goldfish and if she had asked first. She said "I asked Daddy, he said I could." Well, I know that Daddy had been upstairs working in his office and she had not been up there any time recently. So, I asked again and got the same answer. I asked 2-3 more times, knowing that she was lying and she finally caved and said she did not ask Daddy.

She was sent to time out and not allowed to eat any more goldfish.

At least 5 minutes goes by and I get her out of timeout. She had a "fresh" batch of goldfish in her mouth and I asked her where she had gotten that. Avery - "It was in my mouth the whole time I was in timeout".
Mommy is not dumb..."So you mean to tell me that you have been sitting there with goldfish in your mouth and it hasn't gotten soggy?"
Avery "Yes, I had it in there the whole time."

I explained to her that I know when she is lying and I gave her the chance to tell the truth again. I told her that lying gets you worse punishment than telling the truth the first time. And that broke her lie. She confessed that Riley had given her a plate of goldfish and she took some and ate it.

Well, up to the room we went with our friend "wisdom worker". I spanked her bottom (which I HATE doing) and told her calmly to think about what she had done and I would be back to talk to her.

While I went into Ryan's office to explain to him what she had done and that she had gotten her 2nd spanking in a matter of 4 days (she hardly ever gets spankings anymore) we hear her praying "I am so sorry God! I don't know why I did that. I am so sorry! I am so sorry God!"

Talk about melting your heart! I let her wallow in her disobedience a little while longer and went in to talk to her about why lying is bad and what the Bible says about it. etc. etc.

She really does have a soft heart and it doesn't take much to get to her so she was very sorry. I pray we can nip this little lying streak in the bud...it's not fun.

Baby Shower

Here are some sweet pictures from the wonderful shower that my friends gave for me and Blake. It was such a perfect time with all of my closest friends and my wonderful family that came in from Georgia. I couldn't have been more blessed and more thankful for all their generosity. I'm so excited to meet our little boy and to introduce him to all the wonderful people in my life. He already has so many amazing people who love him so much!

Airplane theme was so meaningful, especially since that was his room is decorated around.

Sweet girls eating their propeller marshmallows.

The girls were great little helpers and helped me open gifts! Made bending over a little easier!

Sweet paintings that Shelley made with the girls one day when they were over.  Priceless!

VBS - Sky

The girls both participated in our church's VBS at the beginning of the summer. The theme was "Sky - Up, Up & Away". It was a really fun theme and the music was awesome. The girls can sit and listen to the cd multiple times in a row. There is a fun version of "I'll Fly Away" on their, which I love to hear Riley sing. It brings back the good old days of being in church and singing out of they hymnal. :)

I volunteered that week too. I helped take some pictures for a couple different craft projects and just tried to be available when and where I was needed. It was definitely exhausting, keeping up while being 30 weeks pregnant but I am so happy I helped. I can't wait to do it again next year. What a fun week!

Here are a few pics.
