Happy Father's Day

Well, I have some great men in my life (my Husband, my Father-in-law and my own Dad) so I thought I would take a section of my blog to share some of my favorite things about each one.
I'll start with my Dad. It's really hard to put into words what my heart feels when I think of him. He is undeniabley the most Godly man I know! And that speaks volumes of his character and the example he has always been to my brother and I. I am so glad my daughters have him around because he is an amazing Grandad! Seeing him play with the girls at their young age is like looking back in time. I don't remember being that young but as I watch my dad play with them (he's the get down on the floor to play type of Grandad! Really cool!) I see how he must have been with me. It's so amazing and melts my heart! Thanks for being an incredible example Dad! I love you!
Next is for my Hubby! Ryan is that kind of father who I know my girls will have a crazy, you got to love him, kind of relationship with, because he is so silly! It's the one quality that drew me to him in the beginning. I love that he can make me laugh no matter what! I mean, really, what is life without laughter? BORING!!! For example, I was out running errands a month or so ago and when I come home Avery said that she and her daddy
had created a new game. I was really surpised! I couldn't wait to hear about this new game and how it was played. Oh, ok, are you ready for this... the game consisted of bonking each other on the head with a ball and saying "Urnk"! Seriously?? They had been hitting each other in the head when I was out? What kind of game is this? Well, Avery thinks it's hillarious and she and daddy were playing it today when I was gone again. All I ask is that we don't play this game with Riley until she is old enough to give a good "Urnk" herself! Ryan, you are an awesome father! Thanks for being You! The girls and I love and adore you!
And finally my Father-in-Law. He's a great man whom I came to love very quickly after meeting him. He's got an outgoing and can't-sit-still personality that draws people to him. And one of his best traits is his spirit of giving. I truly believe it's a gift from God. Ryan and I have tried to learn by his example of generosity and we hope that someday we will be able to give to others as much as he and Beverly have. Thank you for allowing God to use you to minister in His name! I love you! So, all I can say is that I am a blessed woman to have such wonderful men in my life! I thank God for each of them every day! Tell me about the Father(s) in your life...

Our favorite place...

Well, our family has quite an addiction to a particular store in town. If you know us well, you've already guessed it. That's right, I am doing a post about Sams Club! haha Well, it all came about because I acutally had my little camera with me the other day in the store and I wanted to take a few pictures of RK in the shopping cart. So, I started taking some shots but then my camera batter died and I didn't get to finish. But, maybe another day....
Here's what I got anyway.
On our way to Sam's
Taking a break with Daddy
Are we still shopping? Checking out...then on to eat some pizza and hot dogs in the cafe

Growing and growing....

Riley Kate had her 9 month check up yesterday. She is doing so well and growing so fast, we couldn't be happier and more blessed! We checked off all the typical things that babies her age should be doing.. - picking up toys and hitting them together, - eating, - picking up food in a raking motion, - eating - occasionaly using her pincher grasp, - oh and more eating!!! haha Seriously you have to cut the girl off...because as long as she is sitting at the table, she thinks she should be eating! But it's okay...it means she's healthy and growing...right?? Anyway, weigh in time came and she was 19 pounds 11 ounces and 27 inches long (both are in the 50th percentile). Whoohoo! So, I did a little comparing, and Avery's height and weight at the same age was 17 pounds 5 ounces and 27 inches long. Pretty crazy huh? They were the same length but 2+ pounds different. The visit was pleasant since we did not have to get shots!! YAY! Dr. Phillips said we could start adding yogurt and soft cheese (like cottage cheese) to her diet. She is such a great eater and acts like everything tastes like chocolate! She hasn't ever turned her nose up at anything (knocking on wood) and that makes me happy. I've forgot how easy it is to feed babies...I mean I've got a toddler who wants to eat pancakes and waffles for every meal, so a variety of foods almost has me stumped! So we are exploring new foods and it's fun!
