New Years Eve at the Urgent Care Clinic
Fortunately this trip to Urgent Care was for myself. I have been suffering with a cold/cough and general nastiness for the past week. Yesterday I woke up with a yucky eye and decided to wait until today to see if it got any better. No such luck...it's a confirmed case of PINK EYE! Yuck! I've never had it in my life but I guess there is a first for most everything! I spent 2 hours in the clinic this morning to see the doctor for less than 2 minutes. I just hate that! When I walked in the door to the house Avery says "Mommy pink eyes!" like it is cute or something. Until she went down for a nap she would say "Pink eyes mommy, pink eyes baby!" She makes it sound like something so wonderful! Love that!

Christmas Came Early

Making Muffins
Rocking the baby in the cradle
Santa came to visit us early this year. Since we will be leaving on Sunday to go to Georgia we decided to have our family Christmas the day before we left. It was a beautiful Christmas day for us! We had a great time together as a family and Ryan and I really enjoyed watching Avery this year! She defintiely understood a lot more than last year! When she woke up we told her that Santa had been to see her last night and he left her some presents! She was so scared that Santa might still be in the house that she didn't want to leave her room. When she finally came out into the living room she kept looking around all the corners for a couple minutes. I think she thought he might actually be there! It was really funny! She loved her presents and is a really entertaining present opener! Everything was "Awww, So Cute" - she kept saying it over and over! We can't wait to see our families over the next few days and spend some time with them!

Not me officer!
Today was a very sad day for me...I got my first ticket. I had just pulled out of my neighborhood and rolled right through a stop sign. Unfortunately, there was an unmarked police car headed my way and he flipped his lights on and pointed right at me! Ugh! What a way to start my morning and it wasn't even 9:00 yet! I had always had this scenario played out in my head if I got pulled over with Avery... I'd reach in the back seat and give her a big pinch in hopes that she would start crying! The screaming baby in the backseat would be my excuse of a distraction that caused me to violate the law! Isn't that awful...I can't really believe I am admitting that. But luckily for Avery she wasn't with me this morning. So, now my husband - with the ever growing list of speeding tickets can rag me about this for awhile. And that's why I had to take this picture. When I got home, he had printed out the stop sign and taped it on the door! A good way to rub it in! My perfect driving record has been tarnished...

Home haircut
Avery has been getting more hair recently and she was starting to get a little rough around the edges. My mom noticed that maybe we needed to even things up a bit and she volunteered to be Avery's stylist! Why pay someone to do what my mom's been doing for 30 years! Although she has only been cutting my Dad's hair all that time. Avery's hair isn't much longer than his, so what could it hurt? No need to worry, Mom did an excellent job and Avery was a GREAT client!

I think my child is a genius...
No not really, but I think she's smart (what mother doesn't feel that way)! Avery has started to get a cold in the last few days and we have been sucking her nose with her "nose sucker". Is there another word for that thing? Anyway, we needed to use it tonight before bed and I hadn't seen it since early this morning. I know I last saw it on my night table in the bedroom. I know I hadn't moved it so I figured Avery had. She is the Queen of putting things away! So, I thought by chance I would ask her where her "nose sucker" was. She answered so simply "In Mommy's bathroom". I didn't really think it was in there but thought I would go check. I opened up the drawer that she is always playing in and there it was! Now don't you think my daughter is a genius? Ha just kidding. But I was kind of surprised that she remembered where she put something almost 12 hours before! I wish I had that kind of memory!
