We've been talking about this day for so long and it finally arrived! Wow! Avery is really F-O-U-R! This morning we had to say good bye to Nana & Grandad but FIRST they took us to Cracker Barrel - Avery's FAVORITE!!! She got a very special pancake with whip cream and chocolate sauce on top in the shape of a smiley face! She thought it was really cool. We said our goodbyes and were sad to see our Nana & Grandad leave but we already look forward to seeing them again soon. We were very glad they came and were able to share our fun snow - filled weekend with us!
After breakfast we drove around town a bit to see some of the snow and ice that was still here. Most all of the local churches were closed Sunday morning so there weren't too many cars out on the road. It was fun to see all the different place that had snow and how beautiful it looked. We enjoyed finding icesicles on street signs and traffic lights.
After nap time we met up with some friends at the bowling alley. I think everyone had cabin fever and when we had called at the last minute and mentioned getting together to do something fun for Avery's birthday our friends were more than happy to meet up! We were so excited to get out of the house and do a fun activity with our friends. The kids had a blast! There were some interesting things going on with 7 kids to keep up with (I guess only 6, since the littlest guy was sleeping the afternoon away in his carseat - sweet boy!) but that's what makes our lives so fulfilling these days! We wouldn't have it any other way!
After our trip to the bowling alley we ended the night with dinner at Zaxby's (Avery's 2nd most requested restaurant - Cracker Barrel being the first). It was delicious as always! Someone really should tell the operator of that restaurant that he's got a good thing going! :)
Anyway, we are so blessed to have such a sweet little 4 year old now! We love our Avery to pieces and we are so proud of the little lady that she is becoming! Happy Birthday baby girl!
