Birthday P-A-R-T-Y

The party is over! What a fun day it was! After a weekend of snow and ice that forced us to cancel our outdoor event for the co-party with Avery and her friend Aidan - we were able to enjoy the brief sunshine of what turned out to be a decent day for an outdoor party. It rained for almost 2 days prior to our rescheduled party so we were still in a jam about where to have it. The park we were originally going to do it at was probably a couple inches under water and it would have NOT worked with all the kids playing on the playground while they waited to ride the horse. But after Ryan and the girls and I drove around the night before looking for the best place, we decided on a park not to far from home. It worked out great! The kids had fun playing on the playground and running around before and after they took their horse ride.

We had a large horse named Tracer and he was a huge hit! I was surprised that the kids took so well to him and most all of them wanted to ride! He was big and definitely no pony! But it was fun! The kids loved it and they waited patiently for their turn and enjoyed watching their friends have fun riding the horse too.

We had cupcakes and drinks and a little craft table where the kids could make their own sherrif badge. It worked out so much better than I expected for having to do a lot of leg work in rescheduling and changing locations. The weather was a chilly 45 degrees but the sun was shinning and for the most part it was bearable!

As always I walked away from the party wishing I had taken more pictures. Does anyone else do that? I tell myself I should pay someone to take pictures at birthday parties but then I never do. It would allow me to enjoy the festivites a little more and to let my presence be made in some of the photos. But, alas, I am the one behind the camera! Anyway, here are some of the pictures. There is more on facebook as I'm sure most of you have seen. Happy 4th Birthday for the last time my sweet Avery...your 4th birthday is OVER!
