2 1/2

Riley Kate you are 2 1/2 years old now. You are such a joy and we are truly blessed to know you and to be able to watch you grow and blossom into a little girl. I wanted to tell you how you are at this age so here is a glimpse of what you are like.

Weight 35 pounds
Height 37.25 inches

You recently got all 4 of your 2 year molars. I didn't even realize they had come through until you were crying really hard one day and I saw all these teeth in your mouth.

Your speech has exploded in the last 2 months. You now repeat everything we ask you to say. You may not say it right, but you are trying! I am so proud of you!

Your newest thing to do is to "read" a book to us. You hold the book just right and flip the pages and you point to the pictures and "talk" out what you see.

You sleep on the bottom bunk in your sister's bedroom at night. You take your naps in your own room and on a day that you have unlimited nap time - you would sleep at least 2 hours. You wake up around 7 am and go to bed around 8:00.

You LOVE to dress up. I think you would wear a princess dress morning to night if you could. I try not to fight it most days and I have taken you to Sam's Club or the gym in your princess dress. You think you are big stuff on those days...a real princess! :)

You ARE potty trained! We started the last week of January and I can now take you to the gym, preschool and church and not feel like you are going to have an accident. Although I know you most definitely will have accidents, you have done tremendously well in the last month! I am beyond proud of you, Little Miss!

Your favorite movie right now is Pippy Longstocking! What a trip - when you weren't saying much a few months ago, you would at least say "Whoa whoa" - that's what Pippy's song is like. ("Whoa, whoa, Pippy Longstocking is coming into your world...") Now, when you don't have something to say, but want to talk you say "Hm, Mommy. Daddy whoa whoa??". I don't know exactly what this means and it sounds more like a question. I do know your dad will turn Pippy on anytime you ask and he sings along with you! So, maybe you just like to remind yourself of that quite often. :) Oh and you also call your pig tails "Whoa whoa's" - ha, makes me laugh to think of what an influence Pippy has been on you!

You love to put on your sisters shoes. Your current favorite are her cowgirl boots.

Your favorite toy is your Magna Doodle. You have a big one in the play room that you love to trace your hands and feet on. You also have a little one that you play with at nap time in your room. Guess what your favorite thing to have me draw on your Magna Doodle is? "Whoa whoa" - yep, Pippy herself! :)

Your a fairly good eater. Your much more distracted during meal time than you used to be. You have a VERY hard time sitting still (you must get that from Daddy). Your favorite thing to drink is Orange Juice.

My precious peanut, I love you beyond what my words describe. Thanks for the joy you bring to our home! You are a true gift from the Lord - my delight is in you! XOXO
