This year we had Avery's party at The Accidental Artist.
It's a pottery painting place here in Greenville that also has a little section in the back where they have parties. You can bring in your own food/cake/drinks etc.
We decided to have a "big kids only" party and didn't invite any little kids or the younger siblings of her friends. It was nice to do that at this particular party because I don't think the little ones would have enjoyed it as much. We sure did miss those sweet little ones running around - but it made the party extra special to Avery this way. :)
We decided to let everyone paint the same thing and Avery really wanted to do a mug. They all turned out cute - there is a picture of the finished projects below.

After painting our mugs we played a little game. If you've ever played the game Headbandz, it's kind of like that. It was a little difficult to explain to the kids but Avery thought they played it just fine and said she enjoyed it later. It was a little chaotic but to a 5 year old, it worked. :)
Next was cake and presents. I have to say that the older Avery gets, the more efficient she is at opening presents. She ripped right into them - almost too fast for me to write down who they were from! :)
Thanks to all of Avery's friends and family that were able to attend her party! It was a fun time and a birthday we will never forget!
