Myrtle Beach 2010

The last time we went to Myrtle Beach was 2 years ago this summer. I was pregnant with Riley and about a month away from delivery. It was our last vacation as a family of "3". We made some sweet memories during that trip but we could hardly wait to meet the little baby in my belly...

Fast forward 2 years later and that little baby, that was in my belly, is almost 2! So cool.
Anyway, we had a great time. We drove down Saturday morning and got to our hotel (Dunes Village Resort) before check in, but we were able to go ahead and enjoy the indoor water park and pool etc. that the hotel had to offer.

We were on the 14th floor and I must say that I really didn't think about staying that high with the kids. We went out on the balcony and I think Riley would have jumped right off! She immediately tried sticking her hands through the rails, with no fear! We kept the door closed most of the stay because I was so nervous! I think it would take a lot for her to squeeze through the railing, but oh, my stomach just hurt being out there with her. Avery is very cautious and would walk to the edge but wouldn't think about putting her arms or legs through the railing. She really didn't like it much anyway and wouldn't go close to the window when we were inside either. Riley was all about standing right at the window, looking around, seeing what she could see.
We were on the top floor!
She had the paci b/c she hadn't napped that day. I tried taking it out for the picture but she was in a lovely mood!! (wink, wink)
We spent a few hours playing around in the pool and then we all get dressed and headed out to eat. Our friends, and fellow Mexican connoisseurs - Adam & Karen, recommended a restaurant called Burro Loco. It was so delicious! Ryan and I devoured some very yummy queso dip and shared a chicken chimichanga! Oh, it sounds good right now...

We debated on going to a Mini Golf place around town but decided to head back to the hotel and play at the one there. Good idea! It was a HIT! And it was nothing special, a little 9 hole course but the girls LOVED it! It was the first thing they asked to do the next morning when they got up (or I should say Avery asked).
Don't you love her "grip"

They were trying to find the ball under the lighthouse.
Oh yeah!

It rained on Sunday morning but because the water park was inside, we were able to play despite the yucky weather. Ryan went to visit the local Zaxby's to look at some interior differences between his Memorial Drive store and that one. (This was our purpose of the trip) So, the girls and I played and by the time Daddy got back the weather had cleared up. We played awhile longer and then packed up and headed out of MB.

We stopped in Wilmington and ate at one of Ryan's favorite restaurants...Sticky Fingers. It was pretty good. He says they have the best wings and ribs, so that's why it's his favorite. It's really nothing special but he was thrilled...so his girls were thrilled! (hehe)

All in all, it was a quick and fun trip. It was great to get away and have some family time. Thanks to Ryan for letting us tag along on his "business trip". :)

Looks like fun! We usually go to MB every year but have never seen that restaurant--we'll have to look next time! That's funny about Sticky Fingers--we have that here and my brother just loves it. I don't see anything that special, but I guess he picks up on something that I don't :)

Glad you liked the hotel! ;) I am not sure if you know this, but Jacob and I actually went to Sticky Fingers right after we were married! We were so busy at the wedding, we never ate, and SF was and is our FAV!!! Sounds like a very fun getaway!
