On our recent trip to Georgia, for the week before the 4th of July, we were able to see my Grandma (on my Dad's side) while we were there. She lives in Western Tennessee about 800 miles away from us and we don't get the opportunity to see her very often. So, it was really special to have a few days to spend with her and just "hang around".
I remember so many trips to my Grandma's house when I was growing up. There is not much to do there since she is in the country - for real country living, I might add. The kind where the nearest town didn't have any chain restaurants, your closest neighbor was almost a mile away and when it was night time - it was pitch black outside! We grew up shucking corn, feeding the pigs, snapping beans and trying to find the cows when they "got out". I have great memories and tons of pictures of those days! I wish we lived a little closer so my girls could visit more often, but we take advantage of the visits we get and enjoy the time we have to make new memories with a new generation.
