Saturday Part 2

After my 5k race on Saturday morning we were driving home. We saw the carnival outside the mall and decided to make a detour and let the girls have a little unplanned fun! Sometimes I love being spontaneous. Unfortunately, carnivals are not a form of cheap entertainment so after 12 tickets and $1 for the goldfish game (you know the one where you throw the ping pong and try to get it in the glass)...we were out of there. But it was definitely not without it's memories.

Here are a few pictures.

Avery absolutely loved this dragon rollercoaster. It started shaking as soon as the ride started, but she didn't seem to mind...she was a face full of smiles! Oh, to be a kid.

Watching big sis fly in the plane
Riding together on the boat ride. Riley LOVED this. I think she felt like a big girl. So, once the ride was over...
...I snapped this shot! I had to tear her out of the boat, kicking and screaming! It was sight to behold and one of my proudest moments (NOT).

I think I'll take away a few things from this mini adventure we had.

1. Don't expect a 4 year old to be "grateful" that we stopped at a carnival unexpectedly and dropped $13 so she could have a few moments of bliss.
2. Don't expect a 1 1/2 year old to understand "hight requirement" rules on rides.
3. Don't waste your money - even if it's a dollar on the goldfish game...just go buy a goldfish and a bowl for $2 at the store. The dissapointment on your childs face when they don't win the goldfish is heartbreaking!
4. Keep your children close at all times!
5. Keep sunscreen in your car always. It would have come in handy for our mini excursion! (Don't worry Nana - no one got sunburned...)
