One more word...

Okay, I had to post this for my own memory's sake. Tonight Riley Kate said "bye bye". This is a huge accomplishment for her since new words are few and far between these days. We were so proud of her...Avery and I both cheered and laughed and gave her high fives! Daddy was not so exuberant but I know he was happy still. :)

Then, Riley and I were sitting on the couch watching Tom & Jerry and Avery was sitting on the ottoman. Riley (whose vocabulary consists of less than 10 words and has yet to call her sister anything) - motioned to Avery, opened and closed her hands as if to say "I want you" and then patted the spot next to her on the couch. It took me a minute to get what she was trying to say because I speak English not baby signs! But then I realized what she meant and we talked through the whole thing. Avery came over and snuggled up with us under the blanket. Riley gave her a hug and a kiss and continued watching the show with the biggest smile on her face...mainly because she gets a kick out of Tom chasing Jerry - but probably because it's one of the only cartoons that hardly a word is spoken! A coincidence? I think not! :)
