Resolutions & More
So, I can hardly believe that it is the 10th of January already! Crazy!! 3 weeks from today will be my Avery's 4th birthday! WOW! I feel so blessed yet a little wierded out to have a 4 year old! I am loving the relationship that we are developing these days. Even though there are days where I want to throw in the towel and give up, at the end of the day, I can say that it was all worth it...when there is peace and quiet! haha
There are a few new things happening with me these days.
1. I have returned to Weight Watchers - my dear friend! ;) I can say that I think about food all the time - I might need an intensive therapy group for it. But, I am enjoying getting back in a routine since the holidays are over and cooking on a regular basis. I am experimenting with new recipes and trying to hone my cooking skills a little more. It's challenging and fun. My first weigh in is tomorrow. I have 2 wonderful accountiblity partners that go with me. We share recipes, excericse together and vent when we are having a rough day! It's really what keeps me going - them and the fact that I am going to be in a wedding in April! Oh wow, I just realized it's 3 months from yesterday! (My first weigh-in is tomorrow night...)
2. I have started training for a 5K run in March. My accountability partners/weight watcher sisters/and dear friends are training with me. We are all doing it together! None of the 3 of us have EVER been runners, so it's a great thing for us to be together. No one feels like they are behind or disadvantaged. BUT, I will say that it is one of the HARDEST things I've ever done and I've only finished 1 week! OUCH! It's okay though, "NO PAIN, NO GAIN"! So, we are sticking to it and looking forward to tomorrows "training time". Oh, and I must add that we started this during one of the coldest weeks in January in years for NC and we are ALL pushing strollers!!! Seriously, that's hard! We look like crazy people running in 30 degree weather. (Don't worry we have taken proper procautions with our children - no one is being harmed during our training sessions!)
3. I have started my fast of Facebook. I posted a status update today and then I will not go back on until February 1st. I think it's going to be good for me. I LOVE checking all my friends pictures and staying up to date on their daily activities but I get really sucked into it and spend more time than is necessary on it. I am also fasting sweets! WHOA!!! This will be hard. Even though I am on Weight watchers, I can still count my points and have something if I want it. So, this is BIG for me...luckily it won't kill me...make me a little nuts - umm, yeah! But, hopefully I can persevere! ;-)
So, I think I have some major "resolutions" if you want to call them that. I will be refering to them as life habits - better for my mind, body and soul! What about you? Any life habits you want to change?
