What a beautiful sound!

Yesterday was a very exciting day for us! I had my 2nd prenatal appointment for this pregnancy! I was 11 weeks 4 days, so it was time to listen for the heartbeat! I was so excited - almost anxious! The nurse couldn't find it at first and we had to wait for the doctor to come in and check it out herself. The doctor found it and we were so relieved! There is just something about it that gives you such confirmation...hearing that beautiful sound! I wish I could hear it anytime I wanted! But knowing that God has already formed this little being inside of me and given him or her a heartbeat just blows my mind! At 11 weeks the baby is 1 1/2 inches long (about the size of a fig) and is almost completely formed! The hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under the gums, and some of the bones are beginning to harden. I am amazed and so blessed to be given this opportunity again!
