This year was our first time to stay home for Christmas Day since we have had kids. We usually celebrate Christmas at home a day or two early and then head down to see our families in Georgia. We decided to stay home this year and let the girls (and us) have a relaxing holiday. And it was just that!

The girls woke up around 7:30 and Avery was running around telling us that Santa came and telling us what he had brought. I wish I had my video camera sitting by my bed to record her reaction. I was a little tired from playing "Santa" the night before so I didn't get up and moving for a few minutes. I do remember her first comment this morning (I wrote it down so I would remember) - "Mom, I am so glad I was good this year!" Cute!
Avery, on your list of toys for Santa was 1. a pull string Jessie 2. a bumble bee pillow pet and 3. a robe. I asked you later in the day what your favorite new thing was and you said your Jessie. You say you are going to take her everywhere with you just like Andy did in the movie with Woody. Jessie helped you unwrap all your presents today too. :)

So happy it's Christmas! |
Riley, since you aren't really able to tell us yet what you wanted. Mommy (or Santa) took it upon herself to know that you would want whatever Avery had. So, you received a lady bug pillow pet and a robe from Santa, just like Sissy. You were thrilled!

I made a french toast casserole last night and put it in the oven while we opened presents this morning. It was so great having breakfast pretty much taken care of so I could enjoy the morning.
After the kids finished opening all their presents, we moved over to Mommy & Daddy's stuff. I have to admit, I would rather sit and watch my kids open gifts and see the joy on their faces anyday than open presents for myself. But, it is fun to receive too! :)
Here is a picture of Daddy opening his "clue" gift. He had no idea what gift was to follow...we really stumped him!

We enjoyed relaxing the rest of the day. We did make a little Christmas dinner and we all enjoyed the Ham, Green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, and corn. It wasn't anything big but we enjoyed it and were able to sit and reflect on the day. Overall I am so glad we decided to stay home and enjoy this Christmas at home. It is supposed to snow tonight. We are predicted to get around 6 inches...too bad it wasn't last night but we will enjoy it for sure!
Thank you Lord for this sweet day! I am forever grateful for you love for me and for blessing me with my precious family!

What a relaxing day . . . I love seeing the pictures and reading about the fun in the Tittle home on Christmas morning.
