Riley Kate turned 18 months this past weekend. We went to the doctor yesterday and I thought I would make an official post since we have her updated stats!
This her in a good mood before the doctor entered the room! She FREAKED out as soon as we had to put her on the table for examination! She was kicking, screaming, rolling etc. It was awful. I felt really bad for her and the doctor!
Height: 31.5 in (45th percentile)
She has 12 teeth - including her 4 molars
She is not saying much more than Mama, Dada and Juice. It's completely opposite from Avery who was repeating anything you asked her at this age and was speaking in 2-3 word sentences very clearly! The doctor said she is on the borderline of requiring a speach therapy consultation and it was up to me to right now if I wanted to send her. We decided to wait and try and work with her a little more on "making" her talk to us. I don't blame her for being so quiet! Her older sister talks enough for the whole house! :)
Here are a few things she loves to do:
She loves to help with the laundry - putting clothes in the washer and pushing the buttons is her favorite part!
She loves to act surprised! She makes the cutest face and looks around and then back at you with this funny expression. I should video it...
She loves her crib! She takes a 2 - 2 1/2 hour nap every day and sleeps from 7:00 at night until about 7:30 - 8:00 in the morning. Daddy made up a song that whoever puts her to bed sings to her every night. It's nothing elaborate but Avery likes to come in her room and sing it to her too some nights. She is such a good sleeper and I am so thankful for that!
She also loves to hold your hand. She can walk around the house holding your hand and be competley content!
She loves to brush her teeth just like her big sister! She likes to stand up on Avery's step stool in the bathroom and run her toothbrush under the water and brush away.
She loves to put on bracelets, carry purses and she is just getting used to the bow in her hair again!!! VICTORY!
She loves her Daddy! She cries when he leaves the house and I think most days she would pick him over me! (Makes Daddy feel great, since Avery has always been a Mommy's girl)
She loves to dance! Turn some music on and she is grooving and swinging her arms like a real moover and shaker! It's so hysterical!
She loves to build towers with blocks and then knock them down. She thinks it is so funny!
Riley is such a joy in our lives. She has the cutest contagious laugh when she gets going and you can't help but bust out laughing yourself. I am so in love with her! I am thankful for a beautiful, healthy little girl - she is so fun! Looking forward to watching her grow and change and thanking God for every minute of it!

Awww What a sweet, adorable, cute, precious little girl Riley is! This doesn't even begin to describe her! life is so fun at 18 mos! Love that little gal!:)
That surprised look is precious! You have mad photography skills, too! Are you running the Habitat race? Jamie scores that one so we'll be out there cheering you guys on!
I loved reading the post. It was so sweet to see all the pictures of her, especially the one of her with the suprised look on her face. She is absolutely precious...I am so glad that we are able to spend time with her and watch her grow.
Amber, just to encourage you, Lydia didn't start saying more words until after she turned 2. When she did start talking it was more "accurate" than Caleb was at her age. I think each child is different and the good thing is - she understands what you say and follows thru with tasks. She is so precious and she actually reminds me alot of Lydia.
I can't wait to get there to sing to her and squish those cheeks!!! She is a mini Sonic!!! LOL A week and counting!!!! Love you mean it!
She is just beautiful, Amber. What a sweet post about her, too. Isaiah slept like that. It was such a blessing...especially since none of the rest of them were good sleepers!
